Greek Mountain Tea (Sideritis)

Greek Mountain Tea, known botanically as Sideritis, is one of the Mediterranean’s most treasured herbal infusions. The name Sideritis comes from the Greek word σίδηρος (sideros), meaning iron, a reference historically linked to the plant’s traditional use and its naturally supportive properties. This remarkable herb grows wild at high elevations, where rocky soil, clean air, and intense sunlight contribute to its unique potency.

Our Greek Mountain Tea is hand-harvested each year by the Maroudas family from the mountainous regions of Greece, following generations-old practices that honor the land and preserve the integrity of the plant. Each harvest is carefully selected at peak season and naturally dried to retain its aroma, flavor, and beneficial compounds.

Pure, grounding, and deeply rooted in tradition, Greek Mountain Tea reflects nature at its most intentional—simple, nourishing, and time-honored.

Antioxidant-Rich & Naturally Caffeine-Free

Greek Mountain Tea offers antioxidant properties comparable to green tea, making it a powerful yet gentle herbal infusion. It is naturally caffeine-free, allowing it to be enjoyed by all ages and at any time of day.

Traditionally consumed throughout the Mediterranean, Greek Mountain Tea is especially valued by individuals who are low in iron, as it does not interfere with iron absorption the way caffeinated teas can. Its mild, balanced profile makes it an ideal daily tea for those seeking nourishment without disrupting digestion, sleep, or mineral balance.

Mediterranean Polyphenols & Digestive Support

Greek Mountain Tea contains beneficial polyphenols similar to those found in extra-virgin olive oil, a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet. These naturally occurring compounds are associated with antioxidant protection, cellular support, and overall wellness.

Because of its gentle nature, Greek Mountain Tea is widely appreciated for being easy on digestion, making it an excellent choice for individuals with sensitive stomachs or digestive concerns. Its smooth, floral flavor and calming qualities make it suitable for children and adults.

Enjoyed warm or chilled, this tea supports everyday wellness in a clean, uncomplicated way—true to its mountain origins.
